A Smart Way for a Student to Save Money

When visiting a college or university, find out the name of the local bank that has the on-campus ATM. When the student enrolls, open an account at that bank so that the student receives a debit card which will allow them to use the ATM without those annoying out-of-network service fees. Students don’t realize that a $10 withdrawal can come with a $4 fee. That’s an interest rate that even loan sharks in New York and Philadelphia wouldn’t charge. Fee-free debit cards are an excellent way to help students become more financially savvy and responsible.
